Public Safety Facility
Stow, MA
DiMarinisi & Wolfe was the architect for the
new up-to-date police station to replace the town of Stows
existing station, which has been housed in a cramped former school
building. The new police station site is a narrow parcel on Route
117 bounded by a church and a pond. D&W's design creates a
single story, L-shaped police station with pitched roofs, in
character with the neighboring church, other town buildings
and the general rural police operations and creates a site
courtyard that is partially screened from public view and can be
controlled from the dispatch area. In keeping with the towns
limited budget, the building project design has been kept as
tight as possible. The new station has been occupied by the Stow Police
since October of 1996. |
