This project's challenge was to develop an
efficient and attractive design for the office of a small state
agency divided between two floors of a narrow, older downtown
office building. The design of the 14,000 sq. ft. space had to
maintain separation between the public and non-public areas, and
provide for good circulation and spatial relationship among the agency's
departments.
To maximize daylight, which was not available
along one side of the building, open office areas were placed
at the windows and interior offices were designed with sidelights.
The elevator lobby to the public entrance was designed as a semi-circular
space. Colors and lighting fixtures were chosen to provide a crisp and
pleasing appearance.
DiMarinisi & Wolfe provided programming, site
selection consultation, space planning, built-in furniture
design, assistance with landlord and contractor negotiations, and construction
monitoring services. |
