Ergo
Science Research Lab
Charlestown, MA
This project required the conversion of the attic
in a historic granite building in the Charlestown Navy Yard
into the Corporate offices and research laboratory of a biomedical technology
company. The entire renovation had to be done within the tight confines
of the heavy timber roof trusses spaced twelve feet apart in the
attic.
The work included design of high profile office
space featuring custom woodwork, space defining pergolas and
neon corporate logo, a multi-station research laboratory with associated
tissue culture laboratory, radioisotope laboratory,
heavy equipment room, glassware / autoclave /cage-washing
room, darkroom, volatile chemical storage and radioactive waste
storage; and a laboratory animal facility with animal care and housing
space and research procedures rooms.
DiMarinisi & Wolfe's services included
programming and full architectural design
services for the renovation. |
